Riffs Acoustic Music is Park City, Utah’s premiere gathering place for learning and appreciating various forms of acoustic music. Centrally located in the Iron Horse District, Riffs is an acoustic instrument store, learning center, performance venue, and café.

Our welcoming environment caters to musicians of all levels and ages, and to those who appreciate acoustic music. We offer a diverse range of high quality guitars, mandolins, ukuleles, and accessories such as strings, straps, picks, and amplifiers. Whether you’re a beginning musician, a casual strummer, or a touring performer, we carry an instrument to complement everyone’s ability, style, and passion.

Riffs’ four comfortable instruction rooms and intimate performance space are designed for individual and group lessons, workshops and performances. The space can also be rented for private functions and live performances.

We have outreach programs for local schools and civic charitable causes by sponsoring group lessons and hosting benefit performances.

Welcome to Riffs Acoustic Music where we promote community gathering, learning and performing – all centered around the love of acoustic music!

Larry Hart

A Southern California native who has called Park City home since 1991, Larry Hart, founder and owner of Riffs Acoustic Music, has had an affinity for acoustic music since being introduced to it as a student at University of Southern California. Immersing himself in the West L.A. music scene during these formative years, Larry regularly attended small venue concerts, catching acts like Joni Mitchell and Doc and Merle Watson.

Having retired from a 35-year career owning and managing insurance brokerage firms, Larry decided he wanted to share his passion for acoustic music with Park City locals and visitors. Wanting to create more than just another musical instrument store, Larry’s vision was to open a center where all levels of musicians and music aficionados could congregate to share and develop their appreciation for acoustic music.

Working with various consultants and local musicians, Larry’s vision came to fruition in 2010. Riffs Acoustic Music features a welcoming environment where local talented is nurtured and developed in a collaborative spirit.  Accomplished local music instructors have been engaged to teach students of all ages in four instruction rooms. Riffs offers a music education that combines theory with live performance, and musicians of all levels have the opportunity to grace the stage of the intimate performance venue.  Established acts passing through the area have also taken the opportunity to perform in Riffs’ unique, casual setting.

We encourage all levels of musicians to stop by, enjoy some coffee in our friendly café, and find like-minded company. Riffs is pleased to be Park City and Summit County’s center for acoustic music.
